Confirmation Mission Fair - Sunday, January 28, 2018
Each student will choose an organization that serves God’s people. Present the organization to Pastor Karen no later than January 10, 2018 for approval. Once approved, the student will:
Information you will want to know:
· What is the group of people the organization services? For example: elderly people in Paulding County or perhaps children in Southern Africa. Do they serve God’s people worldwide or in a specific geography area? Do they serve people of all ages?
· Specifically, how do they help people? Education? Provide a service like job training or home health care? Do they provide money or material goods like food, clothing, etc.?
· How can you as a young person help them in their mission to serve God’s people? Collect items? Collect money? Get the word out about their organization?
· What else should we know about the organization?
If you would like to collect items for your organization, please let Pastor know by January1 so we can let the congregations know.
- Use the internet to research information about the organization
- When possible, interview someone from the organization to gain information about the work of the organization
- Request brochures (about 20), pamphlets or other material from the organization to distribute at the fair
- Create a display board (poster board size or 3-panel display board) with pictures, articles, brochures, etc. about the organization.
- Be prepared to decorate a table in the St. Paul fellowship hall with the display board, brochures and any other pertinent information and items for the organization. Set-up time is either between 9:30-10:15.
- Stand with their display during the fair (from 11:30-12:30 on January 28) and tell visitors about the work of the organization.
- An offering basket will be supplied so that visitors can support the organization. The offering will be collected by Pastor Karen and forwarded to the organization.
